Dear colleagues,

From October 12th to 14th, ESA European Seed Association will hold its 2014 Annual Meeting and the European Seed Trade Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal. To secure your spot in Europe’s key seed event, I invite you to register via this website as of April 1st .

Last year, our Annual Meeting in Warsaw attracted a record attendance of more than 850 registered participants and again confirmed the importance of this event for seeds men and seeds women from Europe but also from other continents. With Lisbon being a particularly attractive location with –hopefully!- brilliant autumn weather, we now hope to repeat this success.

Lisbon will provide ideal business and networking opportunities! Trade and exhibition facilities will provide companies and participants with a buzzling atmosphere for professional exchange and possibilities to showcase latest developments in technical equipment, mechanical components, grain processing technologies and plant breeding software. Participants from all around the world will have the opportunity to meet, discuss and exchange information over three days of intensive business talks.

Next to the crop specific meetings of the ESA Sections and our General Assembly with keynote speakers, important policy priorities for the seed sector 2015 will be discussed: what do we expect from the further debate on a new seed legislation? Will Europe’s attitude towards intellectual property rights for our sector or to genetic modification change? What support do we need from public funding for more research and innovation?

Moreover, you will receive the latest update on the outcome of the European Parliament elections, the set-up of the new European Commission and the possible consequences for our industry.

It is with great pleasure that I invite you to join us in Portugal this October - for important policy discussions, for successful trade, and for meeting old friends and new colleagues! Do not miss out on this unique  opportunity!

ESA is looking forward to welcome you – in Lisbon!
