Welcome to Warsaw!

The ESA 2013 Annual Meeting will be held in Warsaw, Poland, from 13. to 15. October 2013.

With extensive meeting facilities all located in the main Congress Hotel, the Hilton, and all main Congress Hotels located within only a few metres from it, the setting is perfect for an efficient and successful business gathering of Europe’s seed sector.

And, as in previous years, we hope to also once again welcome many of our colleagues from outside Europe - from the Americas, Africa and Asia and even Oceania. In 2012, the Congress attracted some 750 registered participants and we expect to see a very strong attendance this year as well. 

A lot is happening in the seed industry, in Europe and worldwide! Participants will receive the latest updates on the revision of the seed marketing and phytosanitary legislation in Europe, ESA’s efforts to establish a quality assurance system for seed treatment (ESTA), the EU’s implementation of the Nagoya protocol on access and benefit sharing which may become a role model for other countries, and, last but not least, ESA’s initiative of a patent information database that shall improve the awareness of breeders and facilitate their daily decision making as regards access to IP protected material.

Trade and exhibition facilitates will be set up in line with the needs of companies and participants and shall provide a buzzing business atmosphere for professional exchange. Still, we hope that you will be able to also enjoy the ‘seed family feeling’ when meeting with friends, colleagues and partners from around the world.
